Join a Geelong-based civil contractor that's scaling.
DirectBor is a Geelong-based civil contractor delivering directional drilling, trenching, excavation, non‐destructive digging and high‐voltage electrical network infrastructure across Victoria, with a growing presence in NSW. We work on live and de‐energised utility networks for major energy distributors and infrastructure clients, operating a fleet of more than 100 plant items from our Corio yard. We're ISO and OFSC accredited, 2023 Geelong Business Excellence Award winners, and we're building out our project delivery team.
The role
You'll work alongside our Project Managers as a Project Coordinator, providing the documentation, coordination and follow‐up that keeps our projects running. The role sits between the office and the site — you'll own the day‐to‐day admin and coordination tasks that let the PMs focus on running the work.
This is a development role. We're looking for someone with a couple of years of construction or civil experience under their belt who wants to build their career with a privately‐held contractor that takes its people seriously. With time and demonstrated capability, the role progresses toward Assistant Project Manager.
What you'll be doing
* Maintaining project documentation: programmes, ITPs, RFIs, variation registers, daily diaries, as‐builts
* Tracking subcontractor packages, inductions, insurances and compliance documents
* Helping prepare site‐specific safety plans, JSAs and SWMS
* Supporting progress claim preparation and monthly project cost reports
* Coordinating plant, materials and labour with the PM team and yard
* Day‐to‐day correspondence and document management with clients and subcontractors
* Site visits to support supervisors, gather progress evidence and verify documentation
* General project support — whatever the PM needs to keep the job moving
What we're looking for
* 2+ years' experience in a Project Coordinator, Project Administrator or similar support role in construction, civil, utilities or building
* Working knowledge of construction documentation: programmes, RFIs, ITPs, variations, progress claims
* Strong written communication and attention to detail
* Confident dealing with clients, subbies and suppliers
* Competent in Microsoft Office; bonus for Kynection, Procore or similar
* Full Australian working rights and a current driver licence
* Comfortable splitting time between the office and active sites
* White Card (or willing to obtain before commencement)
* Experience in civil contracting, utilities or electrical infrastructure
* Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineer or the like.
* Cert IV in Project Management, Building & Construction, or a relevant tertiary qualification
* Familiarity with project cost tracking
* First Aid / CPR
What you'll get
* $75,000 – $90,000 package, depending on experience (base + 12% super)
* Pool vehicle for site visits
* Company phone, laptop and full PPE provided
* Annual training budget and a development pathway toward Assistant Project Manager
* Real responsibility from day one
* Direct line to senior management in a privately‐held business that invests in its people
