About the Role:
The company is seeking an experienced Area Manager to lead project delivery and field operations in vegetation management across South-East Queensland. This role is based on the Gold Coast and will involve business development, project management, team coordination, scheduling, and client engagement. Further, the unit is in a period of significant growth, and as such this role will require a proactive and driven go-getter to take advantage of opportunities by building strong relationships with existing clients, and developing new business through a range of engagement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities to strengthen the unit's capabilities.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
* Collaborate with other business units to ensure efficient resource planning and cross-unit collaboration opportunities.
* Manage the financial performance of the unit including budgeting.
* Supervise, manage, and mentor staff across a variety of vegetation management projects while fostering a positive team culture.
* Ensure all internal standards are adhered to and promote best practices within the team.
* Coordinate projects to meet timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
* Oversee training programs to ensure technical excellence and compliance with client requirements.
* Manage rosters, conduct operational and financial meetings, and provide regular reports to senior management.
* Operate from South-East Queensland with a focus on supporting regional and remote projects as needed.
* Provide insights into relevant legislation and ensure compliance across projects.
* Prepare and review permit applications and client reports.
* Represent the company confidently in public forums, conferences, and community events.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (environmental science, ecology, business, project management etc.).
* Proven experience in project management and team coordination.
* Demonstrated background in the environment, gas, mining, or construction sectors is considered favourable.
* Strong understanding of safety management systems and practices.

* Expertise in field-based survey techniques and data collection.
* Competency in research, data compilation, and scientific reporting.
