Community Council Members
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Northern Territory Primary Health Network (NT PHN) works to improve health outcomes across the Northern Territory by strengthening primary health care, supporting health providers, and commissioning services that respond to local community needs.
NT PHN is seeking skilled and experienced Community Members to join its Community Advisory Council.
The Community Council forms part of NT PHN's governance structure and is established to provide strategic advice and guidance to the organisation's Board and leadership team.
In this role, you will provide strategic advice and community insight to support NT PHN in improving primary health outcomes across the Northern Territory. The Community Advisory Council plays a key role in ensuring NT PHN's work is informed by community priorities, lived experience, and local context.
We welcome applications from people with strong community connections, lived experience, or expertise in community services, consumer advocacy, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leadership, or local systems. A clinical background is not required.

You are passionate about improving health and wellbeing across the Northern Territory and committed to ensuring services are community-centered and culturally informed.
You bring:
* Insight into community priorities, barriers to care, and lived experience
* Consumer and population-level perspectives
* A strong understanding of culturally appropriate and community-led approaches
* A focus on accountability to community outcomes
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You will have demonstrated experience providing:
* Strategic advice on priority health issues and/or community needs
* Insight into community, sector and workforce needs
* Guidance to support culturally informed and inclusive decision-making
* Constructive input that supports organisational direction and impact
WHAT WE OFFER
As a Community Council Member, you will:
* Contribute meaningfully to a Territory-wide primary health organisation
* Help shape policy, strategy and outcomes in primary health care
* Participate in a collaborative advisory environment with senior leaders and stakeholders
Members are expected to attend quarterly council meetings (approximately 3 hours per meeting), with occasional additional meetings or engagements as required.
Members are expected to reside within Northern Territory.
