We are now looking for a passionate Health Promotion Officer (Community Health Worker) to join our growing team.
About the Role
The Health Promotion Officer will play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our participants. You will work closely with participants, families, support workers, and external professionals to deliver practical health education, training, and guidance.
This is a permanent part-time position of hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement health promotion programs tailored to the needs of participants with disabilities.
* Provide education on healthy living, disease prevention, lifestyle choices, and overall wellbeing.
* Conduct assessments to identify health needs and design strategies to address specific concerns.
* Advocate for the health and wellbeing of participants within Launnie Care Services and the broader community.
* Build the capacity of support workers through training and guidance.
* Develop and deliver training sessions on health-related topics including nutrition, hygiene, medication awareness, and general wellbeing practices.
* Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, community organisations, and other external agencies to improve health outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
* Qualification in Health Promotion, Community Health, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
* Strong understanding of community health and disability support.
* Excellent communication and health-education skills.
* Ability to design, implement, and evaluate health programs.
* Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable:
* Experience in disability support or supporting NDIS participants.
* Experience delivering health training or education programs.
