Role Overview
The Fleet Operations department is responsible for fleet mechanical services and scheduled vehicle inspections to meet regulatory requirements. The Fleet Maintenance team provides repairs and maintenance services through a lifecycle management approach.
As a Fire Appliance Technician, you will conduct repairs and scheduled maintenance of fire appliances, pumps, systems, and associated equipment. You will also complete job sheets and data entry, adhere to workplace health and safety policies, and meet effective and efficient service delivery requirements.
* You require a current Medium Rigid driver's licence (or the ability to attain it prior to appointment) and trade certification qualifications as an Engineering Tradesperson - Level 1 Motor Mechanic (Heavy Vehicle Stream).
* Possession of skills, knowledge, and/or qualifications in similar light vehicle trades will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake servicing, repairs, and maintenance of fire appliances and associated equipment.
* Service and/or repair firefighting systems/pumping systems and other associated equipment.
* Use hand tools and special tools competently and safely, along with electronic diagnostic equipment.
* Participate in ongoing manufacturer and in-house training to maintain competencies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
You must have current medium rigid driving licence (or ability to obtain one prior to appointment). Possess trade certifications as Engineering Tradesperson – Level 1 Motor Mechanic (Heavy Vehicle Stream).
Desirable Skills
Skills and knowledge in similar light vehicle trades are beneficial for this role.
