Assistant Category Manager – IBA
IBA is the retailer arm of Metcash's liquor pillar, supporting a network of independent liquor retailers across Australia.
About The Opportunity
This is a full‐time, permanent opportunity for an Assistant Category Manager based at our Macquarie Park office (3 days per week). You will work closely with an experienced Category Manager to deliver shopper‐led category programmes, lead supplier negotiations, and develop promotional plans that help independent liquor retailers succeed in the market.
In this Role
* Assist the category manager with the development of category strategy by providing market data and insights from supplier meetings.
* Embed category strategy by building programmes aligned to the channel's strategic priorities.
* Ensure seamless execution of category programmes and plans.
* Develop and deliver successful retail and promotional activity to meet retailer margin expectations.
* Own and manage supplier relationships, including profitability analysis for selected suppliers and aligning mutually agreed joint business plans.
* Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best commercial outcome for retailers.
* Support Category Coordinators in building effective promotional programmes that enable commercial outcomes for retailers.
You're Likely a Match If
* Have at least 2 years FMCG experience and liquor industry experience is highly regarded.
* Have previous experience in buying or selling roles.
* Have exposure to category management.
* Have experience negotiating with external parties.
* Can identify shopper and category trends.
* Can deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
