Overview

About The Role

The candidate will provide professional leadership within the speciality area of Gastroenterology and provide training, education, and supervision to junior medical staff and other health care members. It also contributes to existing or develops initiatives that aim to improve quality, efficiency, or outcomes of services by appropriate quality improvement measures that include research.

About You

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

* Demonstrated ability to review, analyse and evaluate patient care for the identification of appropriate treatment and investigations.
* Interest and experience in teaching trainees and students.
* Interest and experience in research.
* Demonstrated ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
* Provides patient care by demonstrating qualities of maturity, empathy and time management as well as communicating soundly with patients and family.
* Develops own learning experience by seeking out opportunities to learn, attending learning programs and teaching others.

Mandatory Requirements

* Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
* Possession of a medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a registered tertiary institution.
