Overview
The City of Fremantle is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Business Systems Analyst to join our IT Projects Team within the Information Technology business unit. The role supports and maintains the City’s corporate business systems, with a focus on documenting existing business workflows and driving process improvements related to TechnologyOne ERP. This involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for enhancement, and proposing solutions aligned with organisational objectives. The Analyst facilitates the implementation of improvements, ensuring seamless integration into existing systems and workflows, to continuously enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness within the City of Fremantle.

Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal business units to identify, implement, and manage system and process changes, including developing business cases, system requirements, and project plans aligned with the City’s project management framework.
- Ensure the integrity and security of business systems, along with maintaining comprehensive documentation.
- Engage with business units to facilitate the identification and rollout of new functionalities within the City’s ERP (TechnologyOne).
- Lead end-to-end implementation of new business systems improvement projects, from requirement gathering to planning, implementation, testing, and data migration.
- Document business systems requirements, prepare project documentation, process maps, and systems architectural diagrams.
- Clearly articulate business systems concepts and requirements to stakeholders and project teams.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in related field (information systems) or equivalent experience.
- Considerable experience in business systems implementation projects.
- Industry experience in a similar role, with proficiency in ERP system support (specifically TechnologyOne).
- Detailed knowledge of ICT trends, issues, and opportunities.
- Strong technical acumen with exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with agile project management methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
- Advanced people skills for effective collaboration and communication with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
- Some experience in database administration, SQL, ETL, BI, or programming would be advantageous.
