**Job Opportunity:**
The Central Queensland Region is seeking a Guidance Officer (Wellbeing) to provide expert leadership and support to schools in developing and implementing wellbeing programs.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with schools and networks to design and deliver proactive, early intervention strategies that build resilience, support emotional wellbeing, and respond to the diverse needs of students.
This position is open to expressions of interest, and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.
About This Role:
* Provide professional expertise, leadership and support to school communities and networks in the development and implementation of plans, programs, and procedures to assist students in achieving positive educational, developmental and lifelong learning outcomes
* Collaboratively negotiate, develop and implement programs for students that have a focus on preventative and early intervention strategies; are responsive to identified personal, social, emotional and educational needs; and aim to foster resilience and personal skills development.
Guidance Officers contribute towards, and are accountable for, the provision of a comprehensive student support program that is responsive to the identified and changing needs of students.
As a Guidance Officer, your responsibilities will include:
* Providing a counselling and referral service to assist students in decision making about critical educational, personal, social, emotional and career development, and providing ongoing support during the implementation phase of their decision.
* Conducting activities such as student observation and psychoeducational assessment in order to determine the nature of student learning difficulties, disability, developmental levels or psychological and emotional status in order to make recommendations for educational adjustments and interventions.
