About the Role
We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Commis Chef to join our kitchen team at Pepe's on the Beach. In this role, you'll work closely with our senior chefs to prepare and deliver high-quality dishes, maintain a clean and efficient kitchen, and ensure every guest enjoys a top-notch dining experience.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their culinary career who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is passionate about learning and developing their skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items under the direction of senior chefs
* Maintain high standards of food presentation, portion control, and hygiene
* Ensure kitchen areas are clean, organised, and compliant with food safety standards
* Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during peak periods
* Assist with stock rotation and minimising wastage
* Contribute ideas to menu development and specials where appropriate
* Follow all OH&S and food safety guidelines
About You
* Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or culinary training (Certificate III in Commercial Cookery desirable)
* A genuine passion for food and hospitality
* Strong work ethic with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn from senior chefs
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills
* Flexibility to work across weekdays, nights, weekends, and public holidays
