About the Role:
The Wellbeing Innovation Manager sits within Safety Wellbeing and Compliance (SWC), a branch of the PSCC in the Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department). The SWC branch provides process, systems and services to support the department to meet its responsibilities under health and safety legislation (Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, Dangerous Goods Act 1985 and Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013).
Reporting to the Chief Psychology Officer, the role is responsible for leading the consultation, development, implementation, and monitoring of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Strategy for the department. The Wellbeing Innovation Manager will collaboratively develop and project manage the delivery of evidence-based strategies to improve health and safety performance to contribute to the reduction of WorkCover claims. It will work towards the prevention of mental injury and illness, particularly where it might arise from recognisable workplace culture or behaviours; and where mental injury or illness occurs, taking action to support recovery.
Some of your duties will include:
- Designing and leading the department's health, safety and wellbeing strategy.
- Collaboratively developing contemporary and complex wellbeing strategies, policies and projects and manage their implementation to support the operations of the relevant business unit/s.
- Conducting research and formulating options for wellbeing programs and activities targeted to improve safety performance, foster a culture of innovation in wellbeing, encouraging new approaches and continuous improvement.
About You:
As an ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge, understanding and experience in the application of mental health and wellbeing promotion and injury prevention, gained in a complex and high-risk workplace.
- Relevant significant industry experience in wellbeing management in a complex organisation.
- Significant experience in consulting with managers and staff to provide key outcomes in wellbeing and related workplace improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Allied Health, Mental Health, Organisational Development, Health Promotion and/or Policy is advantageous, but not essential if extensive experience is demonstrated.
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or Occupational Health and Safety is desirable.
