This is a Permanent/Sessional appointment for up to 5 years at 16 hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension.

Position Profile: This role within Community Health in a Virtual Environment (Co-HIVE) provides collaborative clinical leadership to ensure personalised, safe, effective and timely patient care for all patients of the specialty. This role:

* Ensure efficient use of human and physical resources.
* Leads initiatives to improve the quality of patient care in line with hospital wide priorities and minimise adverse events and mitigate clinical risks.
* Motivates and mentors all levels of the clinical team especially medical staff and ensures junior medical staff are appropriately supervised at all times.
* Facilitates multidisciplinary coordination of patient care and promotes education and research.

The position is accountable to the Service Co‑Directors for the specialty meeting the hospital’s strategic initiatives and Key Performance Indicators as outlined in the agreed annual RPH operational plan.

Area Profile: The East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS) comprises an extensive hospital and health service network that aims to maintain and improve the health and wellbeing of more than 670,000 Western Australians in its catchment area.

Our hospital network works together to provide a combination of tertiary, secondary and specialist health care services including emergency and critical care, state trauma, elective and emergency surgery, general medical, mental health, inpatient and outpatient services, aged care, palliative care, rehabilitation and women’s, children’s and neonates services.

Our hospital consists of Royal Perth Hospital; Armadale Health Service; Bentley Health Service; Kalamunda Hospital; St John of God Midland Public Hospital and a range of community and population health services.
