The role
The key responsibilities
- Manage crime and justice data from a range of sources.
- Assist in the operation of statistical processing systems.
- Extract and provide data or compile statistics for reporting purposes and ad hoc requests.
- Analyse and report on data, including quality and availability issues and recommend improvements.
- Prepare and/or draft statistical reports, statistical commentary, presentations and documents.
- Maintain RShiny dashboards and prepare data visualisations to assist users to comprehend statistical information.
- Contribute to documentation of processes and procedures.
- Actively ensure outputs satisfy Office standards for integrity, accuracy and timeliness based on quality principles and methodologies.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, data custodians, data users, colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Success criteria
- Applied experience in the collection, processing, analysis and presentation of statistical data, including writing statistical commentary.
- A strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate statistical insights effectively to a target audience.
- Applied experience in R, for data extraction and analysis.
- Positive organisational skills and ability to navigate and manage competing work priorities in complex and, at times, fast paced environments.
