Working closely with the Contract Manager, you'll lead day-to-day maritime operations, strengthen customer relationships, and create opportunities for contract growth while keeping our teams safe, engaged, and supported.As a Deputy Contract and Operations Manager, you'll make a positive impact by:Managing daily maritime operations to ensure safe, efficient service deliverySupporting planning for seasonal voyages, port calls, logistics, and crewingOverseeing compliance with maritime regulations and internal standardsLiaising with stakeholders, clients, and authorities to maintain operational readinessCoordinating and supporting workforce recruitment, onboarding, and engagement initiativesOverseeing contract administration, reporting, and compliance activitiesIdentifying risks and implementing mitigation strategiesDriving innovation, process improvements, and cost optimisation opportunitiesSerco is a place for youTo be successful in this role you'll have:Strong experience in maritime operationsStrong understanding of maritime regulations and operational risk (against ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MLC, MARPOL etc.)Tertiary qualifications in Marine Engineering, Business, Management or similar (desirable)Experience in contract management or Defence industry rolesStrong verbal and written communication skills with diverse stakeholdersAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of contract law, governance, finance, and risk analysisProficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management systemsAre you ready to do important work that really matters?
