Melba Support Services is actively recruiting for Disability Support Workers to join our team on a casual basis in Lilydale, Mooroolbark, Bairnsdale, and Sale areas.You will work alongside an engaged, committed, and expert team to ensure the people we support lead happy and fulfilling lives.At Melba, our culture, supports, and frameworks are built on a foundation of human rights and a zero-tolerance policy for abuse or neglect of people with disabilities.You will join an organization truly committed to the people we support, our community, and our staff.What You’ll DoImplement support plans based on the supported persons' needs, preferences, and interests.Assist with all aspects of daily living, from waking up in the morning to going to bed at night.Help individuals attend their preferred activities, such as social events, work, and appointments.Promote personal choice and control for the person.Assist with personal care, hygiene, and household duties like cleaning, cooking, and washing.Administer medication as required.Qualifications and ExperienceA Certificate III or IV in Disability Support is preferred but not necessary.A passion for enabling and working with people.A desire for meaningful work and comfort in providing daily living support.Willingness to learn new skills and undertake ongoing training.Ability to work as part of a team.Additional RequirementsNDIS Worker Screening Check.Working with Children Check.Unrestricted Australian Driver’s License.Car Insurance.Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status, including booster.Current First Aid Certificate with CPR.*We can support you through the process of obtaining these if you don’t already have them.Perks and BenefitsComprehensive training and support, whether you are new to the industry or experienced.Access to Not-for-Profit Salary Packaging—up to $15,900 tax-free per financial year.Opportunities to connect with your community and participate in activities you enjoy.About MelbaMelba is a well-established, values-based, not-for-profit organization providing disability support services for nearly 50 years.
