Merchandising Manager Role
The Merchandising Manager will oversee the merchandising process for multiple e-commerce website categories, encompassing assortment planning, inventory management, demand forecasting, and driving sales growth through data-driven buying decisions.
* Select and purchase seasonal assortments of apparel and footwear aligned with brand vision and consumer trends.
* Analyse market trends and customer preferences to inform buying decisions.
* Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and promotional support with vendors and suppliers.
* Develop and manage open-to-buy (OTB) plans, forecasting demand at style and SKU levels.
To succeed in this role, you will require substantial experience in a combination of buying and merchandise planning, preferably in apparel and/or footwear, within an e-commerce environment. Strong analytical and financial acumen, advanced Excel or planning tool proficiency, and excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for various merchandise categories, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Sourcing and Negotiation: Identify and engage with reliable vendors, negotiating optimal pricing, delivery terms, and promotional support.
* Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products, ensuring they meet customer needs and brand standards.
* Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, ensuring optimal stockholding while minimizing waste and excess stock.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in buying and merchandise planning, preferably in apparel and/or footwear.
* Strong analytical and financial skills, with expertise in budgeting and forecasting.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or other planning tools.
