Role Responsibilities
Drill rig supervision and support to ensure the timely delivery of results in line with the site drill schedule.
Logging of drilling core / rock to a high level of detail.
Field mapping.
Conducting field QA / QC checks and updating geological logs accurately.
Coordinate sample collection, and despatch to the lab and assay results reviewed against logging.
Daily communication with Senior Exploration Geologist(s) and the Managing Director on drill program progression.
Maintaining up to date maps and digital interpretation.
Supervise and mentor junior geologists and field assistants.
Working closely with drilling contractors to maintain efficient and safe operations.
About you
Naturally, you are an effective communicator who can quickly establish rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
Working in a collaborative team you will be open to feedback, respect other's opinions, be organised and display an efficient and proactive approach.
You will have :
Tertiary Qualification in Geology (preferably with honours)
3 year's minimum recent industry experience.
Drill rig supervision experience, initiative, and drive to achieve success.
Knowledge of gold deposit geology, mining standards and regulations.
Competent use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Proficient in Micromine and QGIS software.
Strong commitment to safety and preservation of cultural heritage and the environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in the field.
Current C class WA driver's licence.
Permanent Australian residency.
