We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic person to take on the role of canteen worker with the potential of being a manager/operator at our sports club. Ideally, you'll have some experience working in a canteen or a fish & chip shop-style environment and enjoy being part of a busy, community-focused space.
The role usually covers Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings, every second Saturday, plus Sunday mornings. Saturdays tend to be our busiest match days, and we're flexible in providing extra staff support for those times. On quieter training nights, we're hoping for someone confident enough to run the canteen solo, including handling all end-of-shift tasks like cleaning, dishes and tidying up. We are flexible with your hours and we have staff you can also rely on for additional help or fill in.
A big bonus for us would be someone who's got a good eye for stock control and can keep the canteen ticking over smoothly. Our core menu is made up of the classics – hot chips, potato cakes, dim sims, hot dogs – but we're open to fresh ideas too. The kitchen is well set up with commercial appliances, and we'd love to see someone really make the most of it.
This role would really suit someone who already has a job but is looking for extra hours outside the usual 9–5, or someone who just wants to stay busy and involved in a great community setting.
If you've got the energy and experience to help our canteen grow, we'd love to hear from you.
