Men’s Group BBQ Volunteer
Thursdays – every second week
11:30am start (BBQ fires up at 12pm sharp)
Location: Outdoor patio of our apartment complex – where the grill marks are real and the stories are tall.
Do you:
Know your way around a pair of tongs?
Think “medium-rare” is a cooking term and not a personality trait?
Enjoy a valuable yarn over the sizzle of a snag?
Look excellent in an apron (optional but encouraged)?
We're seeking someone to help fire up the BBQ, serve up some top-notch sausages, and share a few laughs with the fellas. You’ll need to do a quick food safety training (we like our sausages hot, not hazardous), and be open to a bit of banter.
It’s a meat n’ greet – you bring the grill skills, we’ll bring the crowd (and the coleslaw). Don’t worry, you won’t be grilled by the residents – unless you burn the onions, then all bets are off.
Come flip some snags, flip some jokes, and help turn Thursdays into Fry-days.
Your impact
Volunteering as a Social Visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
