Director, Industry Advisor (Supply Chain & Manufacturing) Join to apply for the Director, Industry Advisor (Supply Chain & Manufacturing) role at Microsoft Microsoft’s Industry Team focuses on empowering customers on their AI Transformation. This team is responsible for understanding the Retail and Consumer Goods industry and our customers’ business and priorities, develop strong relationships with senior leaders by generating interest into Microsoft solutions accelerating their AI Transformation and driving revenue growth for Microsoft. As an Industry Advisor, you will have the opportunity to drive industry solution-focused sales for Microsoft. This role is responsible and accountable for originating sales, driving industry-led conversations with customers, qualifying the pipeline, and accelerating through Microsoft’s partner ecosystem. Accountabilities include developing and winning market-making opportunities that deliver customer value and enable transformational customer outcomes. As an Industry Advisor you will be the industry subject matter expert in AI Transformation, engaging with customer executives, leaders and decision makers to identify, generate and nurture new business opportunities aligned to their strategic priorities. You will articulate and position strategic business value and long-term positive results of using Microsoft\'s products, partners and solutions, collaborating across roles and organizations. This is a flexible work opportunity, requiring travel, with the option to work from home 50% of the time. Responsibilities Supply Chain & Manufacturing role (Australia): Lead and accelerate digital transformation across end-to-end operations in partnership with the Supply Chain Director and Manufacturing Director. Bring deep domain expertise in supply chain and manufacturing with a strong grasp of AI, digital twins, and agentic systems. Strategic Technology Enablement: Act as a trusted advisor to Supply Chain and Manufacturing leadership, translating business challenges into scalable technology solutions that drive agility, resilience, and operational excellence. Transformation Leadership: Design and execute transformation roadmaps, including smart factory initiatives, intelligent planning, and autonomous operations. AI & Digital Twin Integration: Champion adoption of AI, digital twins, and robotics to enable predictive visibility, real-time optimization, and human-machine collaboration across planning and execution systems. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work across R&D, procurement, logistics, and production teams to align digital initiatives with business goals and customer expectations. Capability Building: Upskill internal teams and foster a culture of innovation by embedding digital fluency and continuous improvement practices. Qualifications Ideal Profile: Proven experience in supply chain and manufacturing operations, ideally within retail or consumer goods. Strong background in digital transformation, with hands-on experience deploying AI, ERP, MES, or digital twin platforms. Ability to engage senior stakeholders and influence cross-functional teams. Recognised as a subject matter expert with credibility to represent the organisation in customer-facing and strategic forums. Required/Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 7 years customer-facing experience in consumer goods, retail, management consulting, consultative selling, technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience OR Master\'s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 5 years customer-facing experience in consumer goods, retail, management consulting, consultative selling, technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience OR equivalent experience Additional or Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 15 years customer-facing experience in a combination of consumer goods and retail industry and management consulting at the Director, Principal and Associate Partner level or equivalent (strategy preferred with firms such as Accenture, PwC, EY, McKinsey, KPMG), including consultative selling of transformative technology OR Master\'s Degree in Business or related field AND 12 customer-facing experience in a combination of consumer goods and retail industry and management consulting at Director/Principal/Associate Partner level or equivalent OR equivalent experience Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
