Residential Youth Worker (OOHC Tablelands)

Anglicare North Queensland Limited (Anglicare NQ) operates many programs across North Queensland with activities extending south through Airlie Beach, to Townsville, and north to Cairns. Program Overview

Residential Youth Workers are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for young individuals to foster their personal and social development. With a passion for empowering youth, they bring a compassionate approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaboratively address the unique needs of each resident.

To Be Successful You Will Need

* A high level of commitment to the values of Anglicare North Queensland.
* Prior experience working with young people with complex and extreme care needs, preferably in a residential contextand the importance of privacy and confidentiality in relation to their care.
* Ability to engage with young people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
* Ability to handle crisis situations and challenging behaviors.
* Knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures including food hygiene and manual handling.
* Strong understanding and practice of professional boundaries.

Compliance

* A current QLD drivers licence ‘Class C’ or interstate equivalent
* Blue Card (Working with children card)
* A current national PoliceCheck (within the last 3 months)
* Current First Aid & CPR Certifications
* Minimum of Certificate IV Qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, Human Services or similar (or be studying towards achieving this, or higher)
* CurrentLCS2 check, (Child Safety and Personal History ScreeningCheck).
* Hope & Healing certificate
