About the Opportunity

The Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service (OVAHS) now has a rewarding opportunity for a committed and community-focused Elder Care Support (ECS) Coordinator to join our team in Kununurra, WA, on a full-time basis.

Are you passionate about supporting Aboriginal Elders to access culturally appropriate aged care services? This is your opportunity to work in a role that combines advocacy, service navigation, and holistic care planning, helping to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders and their families in the East Kimberley.

In this role, you'll provide individualised support to Elders and their families as they navigate the aged care system, including My Aged Care registration, service coordination, assessment support, and care planning. You'll also advocate to ensure cultural needs are met and contribute to building trusting, respectful relationships with clients and the wider community.

This role is ideal for someone with strong connections to community, cultural knowledge, and a genuine desire to walk alongside clients and their families as they plan for care that is safe, informed, and respectful of culture and identity.

About You

You are a compassionate, culturally capable, and community-minded professional who is confident working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. You may have experience in community services, aged care, health navigation, or Aboriginal health work, or bring a lived understanding of the barriers Elders face in accessing care.

You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work respectfully in complex family or community dynamics. You thrive in a team-based setting but are also confident working independently in the field, including through outreach.

To be considered, you will ideally bring:

* Strong relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
* A sound understanding (or willingness to learn) of the aged care system and care planning processes.
* Ability to advocate and support clients through assessment, service selection, and care reviews.
* Experience or readiness to navigate administrative systems and complete reports.
* A current WA Driver's Licence.
* A National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
* Demonstrated commitment to cultural safety and trauma-informed practice.
* Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and is recognised as such by community.
* Previous experience in aged care, social support, community services, or Aboriginal health.
* Certificate III or IV in Community Services, Health, or equivalent (desirable but not essential).

About the Benefits

OVAHS offers a stable, safe and supportive work environment with a large, multi-disciplinary team including doctors, nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers, an audiologist, dietitian, mental health workers and a social support unit.

Your dedication will be rewarded with an attractive remuneration package circa $112,930.00 per annum pro rata (commensurate with qualifications and experience) including a range of benefits to significantly increase the value of your overall remuneration package:

Specific benefits include:

* Base Wage: $89,868 - $93,652.00 (dependent on Qualifications and experience) per annum pro rata + Super
* 5 weeks annual leave per year
* Additional paid leave over the end of year closure period, as per leave policy
