The Opportunity
Metalcorp is looking for an Internal Sales professional at our location in Bundaberg. Metalcorp is a leading rural Australian steel distributor, supplying brands for the land through our branches and stockists across Australia.
We are entering an important new chapter, and we need someone who brings energy, initiative, and a sales-driven mindset. You’ll be the first point of contact for a mix of phone, email, and walk-in customers, providing friendly and knowledgeable support.
But this isn’t just about answering phones or processing orders — we’re after a true all-rounder. Someone who can drive sales, follow up leads, and build strong relationships, while also being willing to roll up their sleeves and help the team wherever it’s needed. If something needs doing, you take it on. If a customer needs a solution, you’re already on it.
This role would suit someone who enjoys a challenge, takes real ownership of their work, and wants to play a key role in turning a solid local business into a thriving one.
What Will You Do?
* handling in-person, phone and email enquiries, providing timely and practical solutions to customers across the agriculture, construction, fabrication and manufacturing sectors
* preparing accurate quotes, following up proactively to convert opportunities into sales
* building strong, long-term relationships with customers, learning their needs and becoming a trusted point of contact
* supporting external sales reps with local knowledge, customer insights, and on-the-ground follow-through
* taking initiative to solve issues, streamline processes, and continuously improve the customer experience
* contributing to day-to-day branch operations — whether it’s helping a customer at the counter or jumping in to assist a teammate when things get busy

* proven communication and interpersonal skills — you’re clear, confident, and approachable
* a strong sales mindset, with the ability to follow through and close the loop with customers
* someone who enjoys variety, thrives under pressure, and can juggle multiple tasks with accuracy
* a proactive attitude and sense of personal accountability — you take pride in doing things well
* tech-savvy and quick to pick up systems (experience in SAP or similar is a bonus)
