Description
Amazon Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) focuses on providing tools, resources, and environments that support safe, efficient, healthy behaviors and encourage employees to proactively manage their health and wellbeing. We are seeking an experienced and innovative WHS Manager to serve as the Site WHS Manager for one of our Australian fulfillment centers. The manager will partner with the Operations Team to execute company WHS policies, ensure compliance with local, regional, and federal regulations, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risks.
Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a team of WHS professionals, creating and executing leadership development plans, communicating expectations, and providing frequent feedback.
* Partner with Operations to set strategic actions for the site that align with network targets.
* Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable WHS policies.
* Lead initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk, establish high quality relationships with site and regional leadership, and measure site performance against published requirements.
* Identify and implement corrective action plans for all deficiencies, driving accountability.
* Analyze WHS metrics, review incident trends, and allocate resources where risk is highest.
* Perform site WHS audits, identify non‐compliance equipment or processes, and implement solutions to eliminate exposure and prevent injury at other fulfillment centers.
* Audit record‐keeping practices, workplace organization, and associate behaviors to ensure accurate, consistent training and auditing.
* Ensure site leadership and associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy, auditing the quality and effectiveness of all required WHS training.
* Work flexible shifts as required.
Basic Qualifications
* 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
* Bachelor's degree.
* Experience leading multiple direct reports or managing multiple sites.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
* Experience in a distribution center or manufacturing EHS setting with a mix of exempt and non‐exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people.
