About the role
* Provide clinical leadership, supervision and training to pharmacists, interns and technicians to ensure safe, high quality and efficient pharmacy services.
* Lead and coordinate pharmacy services across the Medicine and Surgery streams supporting multiple specialties including geriatrics, neurology, infectious diseases, orthopaedics and vascular surgery.
* Work closely with the Deputy Director of Pharmacy to support operational goals, manage team communication and ensure safe medication supply and distribution.
* Maintain advanced clinical pharmacy practice while contributing directly to ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings and frontline clinical services.
* Lead service improvement through research, quality improvement programs and development of clinical policies, procedures and guidelines.
* Participate in pharmacy leadership, clinical governance and patient safety initiatives while supporting hospital pharmacy services across operational hours including weekends and on call services.
About you
* Registered as a practicing pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no conditions on scope of practice and post registration clinical or management/leadership qualifications or equivalent skills/experience, and availability for on-call and weekend work as per roster requirements.
* Significant experience and a demonstrated high level of competence, expertise, skill and application of clinical judgment in the provision of clinical pharmacy services relevant to the defined practice area and a demonstrated ability in Pharmacy operational management and leadership.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, including demonstrated ability to develop high quality written guidelines, procedures, educational, research or business materials.
* Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including communication, negotiation, team building, influencing, conflict resolution and the building of a positive workplace culture.
* Demonstrated skills and experience in managing a complex workload, problem solving and development and implementation of initiatives, and own professional development.
