Position Overview

The Financial Accountant/Controller leads the financial management, reporting and compliance function for Broadway's ASX-listed clients, ensuring the timely delivery of accurate financial reporting and the effective operation of core financial processes. The role works closely with each client's Managing Director and Company Secretary to provide proactive financial reporting, analytical insights and governance-aligned support to ensure our clients meet their statutory, regulatory and continuous disclosure obligations.

A key focus of the position is co-ordinating half-year and full-year reporting cycles, overseeing audit processes, maintaining internal controls, and ensuring that timely financial information is provided to Boards.

This role requires strong technical accounting capability, a disciplined approach to financial governance and the ability to operate confidently in a disclosure-sensitive environment. The Financial Accountant/Controller contributes directly to the integrity of client reporting outcomes and supports the broader strategic and compliance objectives of each of our clients.

For candidates with the ambition to broaden their commercial influence, the role provides the ability for development into the Company Secretarial role. Working alongside the Company Secretary offers exposure to market disclosure decision making, boardroom dynamics, ASX/ASIC compliance and commercial considerations underpinning corporate transactions. Key Responsibilities

Lead the preparation and review of financial information ensuring compliance with IFRS;

o monthly reconciliations and month-end close processes;

o monthly and quarterly management and statutory reporting; and

o half-yearly and annual financial statements,

Prepare, review and monitor cash flow forecasts and budgets, providing analytical insight to support operational planning, liquidity management and strategic decision-making;

Co-ordinate and prepare audit support documentation for half-year reviews and full-year audits;

Prepare and communicate clear, board-ready financial information, including budget-to-actual analyses, technical accounting assessments and updates on regulatory and compliance matters;

Contribute to the review and assessment of proposed client transactions by providing technical accounting guidance, evaluating application of relevant accounting standards, liaising with technical specialists and delivering clear financial analysis to support informed decision-making;

Support the Company Secretary in ensuring internal and external financial reporting deadlines are met, including ASX and ASIC lodgements;

Support governance processes through preparation of board reporting packs, Audit and Risk Committee materials, Remuneration and Nomination reporting, and maintenance of the financial and operational risk register.

Co-ordinate preparation of annual income tax returns and other relevant client tax matters, including R&D claims and EMDG applications, and liaising with external tax advisers;

Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, brokers and legal advisors on accounting matters, corporate transactions and regulatory requirements;

Oversee and process payments in accordance with client controls and procedures;

Qualifications and Experience

CA/CPA (or international equivalent) with a minimum of four years' experience in audit or business advisory. Exposure to ASX-listed companies is advantageous.

Strong desire to further develop your skills, particularly in the area of governance;

High attention to detail, disciplined work habits and the ability to operate accurately and independently;

Confident problem-solver with ability to triage day-to-day issues and maintain momentum under pressure;

Experience with accounting software (MYOB/Xero) is beneficial;

Advanced Microsoft Office skills (particularly Word and Excel);

Mature, clear and confident communicator, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders;

Capable of working under pressure when required;

Proven ability to manage competing deadlines to meet reporting and statutory obligations;

Experience liaising with external auditors is an advantage;

Collaborative team member who can follow procedures and directions, capable of working autonomously when required;

Positive mindset and ability to confront challenges and obstacles with a lens of professional improvement.
