Shape Victoria's Heritage Story

Victoria holds some of Australia's most complex and layered heritage landscapes, from colonial-era urban archaeology to tens of thousands of years of First Nations cultural heritage. At Everick Heritage, you won't just document that story. You'll help protect it. We're looking for a mid-career archaeologist to join our growing Victorian team. You'll work across a diverse portfolio of projects spanning historical archaeology, Aboriginal cultural heritage, and major infrastructure and development. No two weeks look the same, and that's the point.

About Everick Heritage

Everick Heritage is a specialist heritage consultancy with offices nationwide. Our Victorian practice is expanding, and we're building a team of sharp, committed professionals who care about delivering meaningful heritage outcomes, not just ticking boxes. We work with government, private developers, infrastructure authorities, and First Nations communities. Our projects range from large-scale cultural heritage management plans to targeted archaeological investigations, heritage impact assessments, and interpretation strategies. While the company operates under flexible work arrangements, the successful applicant will be expected to attend the local office most of the time.

* Sound working knowledge of Victoria's legislative framework, including the Heritage Act 2017 and the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Experience preparing or contributing to Cultural Heritage Management Plans (CHMPs), Heritage Impact Assessments, and archaeological survey and excavation reports to a high quality
* Demonstrated experience working respectfully and collaboratively with First Nations communities and Registered Aboriginal Parties (RAPs)
* Ability to take instructions from senior staff
* A current driver's licence and willingness to undertake regional and interstate fieldwork
* Solid administrative and time management skills
* To participate in any relevant training programs when required
* White Card (OHS Construction)
* Ability to work within our accredited Quality Management System requirements

Desirable:

* High level of project management skills
* Proven ability in delivering projects within agreed timeframes and budgets, as well as delivering high‐quality standards
* Experience in supervising field teams
* Experience in using Esri Field Maps or comparable spatial data management systems

What we offer:

* Work in a supportive, collaborative team with strong mentoring and expertise across disciplines
* Genuine career development pathways within a national practice
* Gain exposure to meaningful Aboriginal cultural heritage projects across Australia
* Be part of a multidisciplinary practice that values integrity, quality, and cultural respect
* Enjoy flexible work locations and opportunities to build a long‐term consulting career
* Be part of a workplace that fosters learning, inclusivity, a positive culture, and preserves cultural heritage
* Take advantage of a well‐deserved Christmas break with our annual company shutdown

If you're ready to do work that matters in one of Australia's most dynamic heritage environments, we'd love to hear from you.
