Overview
Rehabilitation Consultant - Occupational Therapist position in Orange, NSW. We are seeking individuals with a qualified background in Occupational Therapy interested in working in the Occupational Rehabilitation sector. You will be part of a diverse, multidisciplinary team providing occupational rehabilitation services to clients with physical and psychological conditions, supporting them to achieve return to health and return to work outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Case management (caseloads are manageable, with support from Rehabilitation Assistants to alleviate administrative tasks).
- Apply clinical knowledge to improve return to work outcomes.
- Work with employers and employees to develop and implement injury prevention and workplace education programs.
- Collaborate with injured workers, employers, medical and allied health professionals.
- Work across schemes such as workers compensation, compulsory third party, life insurance, Comcare, Department of Veteran's Affairs, and employer-funded injury prevention programs.
- Assist those with injury or health conditions to achieve return to health and return to work outcomes.
- Complete a variety of assessments (initial, workplace, vocational) to review diagnosis, support treatment plans, address psychosocial barriers to employment and identify suitable employment opportunities for workers with workplace or motor vehicle injuries.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy registered with AHPRA ;
- Previous experience in Occupational Rehabilitation is highly regarded;
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with clients and stakeholders;
- Compassion, kindness and empathy;
- Strong time management skills;
- A current NSW Driver’s License and access to own car with comprehensive insurance is a must.
