We are seeking a skilled visual strategist to manage all creative aspects and assets across our platforms.
This role requires daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing visual elements and creating content that reflects the brand's heritage while ensuring it remains fresh and relevant to new audiences.
The successful candidate will have experience designing for consumer print publications and digital agencies, with expertise in Adobe Creative Suite. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing projects to meet multiple deadlines.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the brand and create visuals that reflect its heritage.
* Create graphic content for various platforms, including print, digital, and multimedia.
* Design daily hero images, promotional assets, and social media content.
* Prioritize projects to meet multiple and simultaneous deadlines.
* Manage junior art department colleagues and freelance contributors.
* Collaborate with the design team to ensure marketing assets reflect the editorial voice.
* Evaluate and correct tables, values, and copy referred to the sub editor.
* Source and work with images supplied from story sources.
* Create templates and support content producers with graphic needs.
* Build original motion graphics.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field.
* Minimum eight years' experience designing at a publishing/media company or digital agency.
* Advanced experience with design software, including Adobe Creative Suite.
* Knowledge of emerging digital technologies and skilled at working within Content Management Systems.
* Strong storytelling capabilities and ability to conceptualize complex issues visually.
* Excellent communication skills, highly organized, creative, solutions-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
