About the Role
We're seeking an Electronics Engineer & Workshop Manager to lead our product development and manufacturing operations. This dual role combines R&D innovation with hands-on production management—you'll design the next generation of our products while ensuring current operations run smoothly. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a small, agile team where technical excellence directly impacts elite athletic performance globally.
This role encompasses both product development and workshop management, focusing on innovation and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
Product Development & Engineering (60%)
* Develop new products from concept through to working prototypes
* Design and prototype circuit boards for new products
* Create mechanical components and assemblies using Fusion 360
* Review existing bills of materials to identify end-of-life components and design alternatives
* Collaborate with firmware developers to implement electronic requirements
* 3D print and iterate on prototypes
* Partner with suppliers to transition designs into manufacturing
* Navigate regulatory compliance processes (FCC, KC, CE)
* Design supplementary tools including calibration rigs
* Develop commissioning and quality assurance procedures
* Iterate designs based on technician and customer feedback to meet quality standards
Workshop & Manufacturing Operations (40%)
* Build products and accessories (GymAware RS, FLEX, Ancore assemblies)
* Manage on-site manufacturing and repair inventory
* Maintain workshop facilities and tools
* Oversee stock management systems:
* Process incoming inventory into systems
* Track consumption and system updates
* Monitor and manage reorder points
* Phase out end-of-life components
* Assess, quote, and document product repairs
* Develop repair procedures and communicate repairability constraints to the team
* Ensure adequate supplies of repair stock
Qualifications
* Degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
Required Skills
* Demonstrated experience in circuit board design and prototyping
* Proficiency with design tools (Circuit Studio, Fusion 360, or similar)
* Practical skills in soldering, wiring, and electronic diagnosis
* Experience taking products from prototype to manufacturing
* Strong understanding of component sourcing and supply chain management
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Skills
* Experience with Time of flight sensors, IMUs, accelerometers, Bluetooth
* Experience with regulatory compliance processes (FCC, CE, KC)
* 3D printing and rapid prototyping experience
* Background in sports technology or precision measurement devices
* Familiarity with inventory management
* Experience working with offshore manufacturers
