Elecnor is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our Distribution and Transmission Lines team in Melbourne. This role will oversee transmission line works, including civil construction and both low and high-voltage construction activities as required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, standards and project requirements. You will work collaboratively across all departments to develop, implement and maintain effective HSE policies, systems and procedures.

This position plays a key role in fostering a proactive and positive safety culture, ensuring that all works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project and regulatory expectations.

Please note: This is not a FIFO or DIDO role, and accommodation is not provided.

Key Responsibilities:
* Implement our HSE management system and best practices
* Contribute to quality control activities in line with project requirements
* Conduct audits and inspections to identify hazards
* Assess risks, and apply necessary control measures
* Provide guidance on HSE requirements, policies, and procedures
* Work with internal teams to design and deliver training program
* Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses
* Implement corrective and preventive actions
* Coordinate and participate in emergency response drills
* Ensure employees are well-prepared for emergencies
* Monitor and report on HSE performance, compiling data
* Track HSE regulations, trends, and best practices
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting HSE initiatives
Qualifications and Experience:
* Cert 4 in Work Health and Safety (BSB41419) or higher (mandatory)
* Valid Driver Licence
* General Safety Induction / White Card (CPCWHS1001)
* Current First Aid - (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) Certifications
* Formally trained in an incident investigation training course preferred such as Conduct Safety and Health Investigations (RIIWHS301E) / Lead Initial Response to and Investigate WHS Incidents (BSBWHS515) / Investigate Incidents (PMAWHS310)
* Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing (HLTPAT005) or equivalent preferred.
* Operate as part of an emergency control organisation (PUAFER005) preferred
* Demonstrated knowledge of Australian HSE legislation, regulations, and industry standards
* Proficient in using Microsoft applications including general software and tools for data management, reporting, and analysis
Skills and Abilities:
* Sound communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
* Demonstrated ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures.
* Demonstrated interpersonal and soft skills with the ability to build constructive relationships and influence stakeholders at the project level.
* Sound level of attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the leading standards of health, safety, and environmental practices.
* Ability to administer personal data in a confidential, professional, and competent manner.
