Correctional Officer Role
We are seeking motivated individuals to fill Correctional Officer positions in a dynamic and diverse organisation.

Candidates will be required to work in a team environment, contributing to the safe and humane containment of prisoners/remandees and their rehabilitation.
* Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of prisoners/remandees, staff and visitors.
* Rehabilitation: Contribute to the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners/remandees through education, training and support.
Candidates will undergo a 13 week training program with the Tasmania Prison Service at the Risdon site, which includes a Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Custodial).
Upon completion of the training program, successful applicants will be employed as Correctional Officers, working on a fully rotational roster including day and night shifts, public holidays and weekends.

Prior training, experience and qualifications in corrections are not required, but applicants should be able to demonstrate attributes in areas such as team orientation, interpersonal skills, integrity, strength and stamina, resilience, respect, supportive, accountable, tolerant, assertive, adaptable, decisive, dependable, courageous, motivated, patient, objective, able to read people and situations and think critically and problem solve.
