About the Role
The Education Assistant - Lead will be a key member of the Comet Bay College community, responsible for leading, mentoring, coaching and modelling good practices for other Education Assistants. This individual will work collaboratively with the Manager Corporate Services and Program Coordinators to lead and manage the Education Assistant workforce at Comet Bay College.
This role requires exceptional communication skills, organisational abilities, and discretion in problem solving and decision making. The successful applicant will contribute to the design and implementation of documented plans and provide solutions and support to teachers and education assistants to promote positive student behaviour and improved educational outcomes in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor Education Assistants to model good practices and improve educational outcomes;
* Collaborate with Manager Corporate Services and Program Coordinators to develop and implement strategies for effective education programs;
* Contribute to the design and implementation of documented plans to promote positive student behaviour and improved educational outcomes;
* Provide solutions and support to teachers and education assistants to address challenges and improve educational outcomes;
* Utilise problem-solving and decision-making skills to achieve desired outcomes;
* Demonstrate cultural competence and understanding in working with students from diverse backgrounds;
Requirements
* Australian or New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency or valid visa with relevant work rights;
* A valid Working With Children Check prior to commencement;
* Consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit;
