As an L&D Trainer, you will assist in the implementation of the strategic L&D training plan by delivering high-quality training programs that support safe work practices and ensure compliance within a healthcare environment. You'll play a vital role in improving patient and staff safety across Fiona Stanley Hospital.
You will report to the L&D WHS Specialist Training Lead and work closely with clinical and non-clinical staff to promote a safe, engaged and informed workforce.
Your responsibilities
* Deliver and assess training programs and competencies in patient handling and Aggression Prevention Intervention – API2.
* Assist in risk minimisation strategies related to patient handling tasks.
* Complete safety observation assessments and competencies.
* Maintain training statistics and support LMS course management and participant resulting.
* Ensure training delivery meets Serco and WA Health quality standards.
* Provide guidance using a risk management approach.
* Contribute to continuous improvement and uphold HRMS values.
What you'll need to succeed
* Demonstrated experience in a healthcare environment.
* Experience delivering and assessing patient handling or aggression prevention–related training.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong customer focus and ability to build effective relationships.
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
* Ability to adapt quickly to new training processes and technologies.
* Knowledge of WHS and ergonomic principles relevant to manual handling and aggression prevention management.
* Workplace First Aid certification including current CPR.
* Bachelor qualification in human movement, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing or related field, or working towards this (desirable).
* National Police Check (essential).
* Up-to-date vaccination status in line with Department of Health requirements.
