About the Role
* Supervise young people in custody, ensuring all their needs such as health, hygiene, and wellbeing are met daily.
* Respond to challenging situations.
* Maintain a safe and secure environment for young people and staff within the centre.
* Avert risk and solve problems proactively.
As a Youth Officer, you will provide care, development, and security to young people in custody in a team environment. You will communicate effectively with colleagues and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
Key Requirements
* Meet citizenship or residency requirements.
* Possess a minimum Provisional 2 NSW driver's licence.
* Pass a National Background Police Check.
* Hold NSW Working with Children Check Clearance.
To succeed in this role, you will require excellent communication skills, remain calm under pressure, and possess a strong ability to work in a team environment.
