The Role
We are seeking an experienced Head of Construction to provide senior leadership across our construction function as the business enters its next phase of growth and complexity.
This role is not about day-to-day site management alone. It is for a construction leader who understands the bigger picture — why decisions are made, how risk is managed upstream, and how construction performance directly impacts brand, margin, and long-term sustainability.
The Head of Construction will work alongside the General Manager, owning construction outcomes end-to-end while contributing meaningfully to strategic planning, project selection, delivery methodology, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Leadership & Delivery
* Become the responsible individual (Open License Nominee) for the Business across QLD & NSW
* Lead the construction function across all projects from Due Diligence and Project Inception through to handover and maintenance
* Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to the expected quality standard
* Provide oversight across multiple construction methodologies and delivery models
* Act as a senior escalation point for complex construction, program, or stakeholder issues
Strategic Input & Front-End Influence
* Provide practical construction input during Due Diligence and Project Inception, feasibility, and project planning
* Influence design, procurement, and methodology decisions to optimise buildability and risk
* Contribute to broader business planning alongside the GM and leadership team
Team Structure & Capability
* Design, resource, and evolve the construction team structure in line with workload and strategy
* Lead, mentor, and develop senior construction staff and site leadership
* Set clear expectations, accountability frameworks, and performance standards
Commercial & Operational Control
* Own construction forecasting, reporting monthly on program, cost, and margin performance (forecast vs actual)
* Identify emerging risks early and implement corrective actions
* Actively seek opportunities to improve construction efficiency, margin, and delivery outcomes
Stakeholder Leadership
* Manage key internal and external stakeholders including consultants, subcontractors, certifiers, and regulators
* Uphold strong relationships built on professionalism, clarity, and mutual accountability
* Represent the business confidently at a senior level when required
Licensing & Nominee Requirements (Essential)
* Holds a current QLD Open Builder License
* Holds a current NSW Open Builder License
* Willing and suitable to act as nominee for the business
* Demonstrated understanding of nominee obligations and compliance responsibilities

You are a construction leader first, with enough commercial and business exposure to understand why decisions matter — not just how to execute them.

* Exposure to complex, bespoke, or high-value residential projects
* Experience across multiple construction methodologies
* Strong commercial awareness and confidence interpreting construction financials

* The maturity to work collaboratively alongside a GM without ego or territorial behavior
