Our federal government is embarking on a Modernisation Program which will significantly improve the capability and interoperability of systems and processes. To support the implementation of the Program, the department has formed a new delivery team under the CIO which will be responsible for the delivery of key sub-program components under the initial phases of the Program.
**About the role**
Reporting to the Program Director, the **Program Manager **will lead and oversee a complex program of work. In this key leadership role, you will have primary accountability for the successful delivery of outcomes for the program, ensuring adherence to scope, timeline, and budget.
**Selection criteria**:
**Program Planning and Execution**:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive program plan, including goals, milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation, to achieve program objectives.
- Define program scope, objectives, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders and senior leadership.
**Stakeholder Management**:
- Serve as the primary point of contact and establish strong relationships with stakeholders, including senior leadership, business units, and external partners.
- Facilitate regular communication and provide transparent updates on program status, milestones, and key decisions.
**Vendor Management**:
- Oversee vendor selection and contract negotiation processes, ensuring alignment with program objectives and organizational standards.
- Manage vendor relationships, including regular communication, monitoring of deliverables, and issue resolution.
**Budget and Resource Management**:
- Develop and manage the program budget, including cost estimation, tracking, and reporting.
- Optimise resource allocation to maximize efficiency and productivity throughout the program.
- Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to facilitate budget planning, financial forecasting, and vendor payment processes.
**Risk and Issue Management**:
- Identify and assess program risks and issues, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Implement risk and issue management processes, monitor their effectiveness, and adjust as needed.
**Quality Assurance**:
- Develop and implement quality assurance processes to ensure program deliverables meet defined standards and expectations.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
