FinXL is seeking a highly skilled Senior Risk Management Project Officer to join a critical project team in Canberra. You will play a pivotal role in establishing risk and benefits management documentation, systematically managing risks and issues across multiple lifecycle stages, and supporting a complex Defence ICT program spanning acquisition, early sustainment, and transition into service.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and enhance risk and benefits registers that reflect the program's hybrid lifecycle.
* Assess legacy risks and benefits to ensure relevance as the program moves into operational acceptance and sustainment.
* Conduct and facilitate workshops with stakeholders to review the effectiveness of project controls.
* Support transition planning by identifying risks associated with operational readiness and handover.
* Prepare briefs, dashboards, and reports for governance forums and assurance activities.
* Provide specialist advice to project staff and stakeholders on risk and benefits management practices.
Essential Skills & Experience
* An active NV1 (Negative Vetting Level 1) clearance is mandatory.
* Demonstrated experience performing a risk management role within a complex ICT program environment.
* Proven experience delivering risk management, benefits realisation, and/or program assurance within Defence or a comparable large-scale ICT environment.
* Ability to effectively engage and operate within a multi-stakeholder environment, including acquisition teams, sustainment organisations, and operational users.
* Demonstrated practical application of recognised frameworks, including ISO 31000, MSP, and the Defence Risk Management Framework.
* Strong organisational and planning skills to manage competing priorities across multiple program and system lifecycle stages.
