**Position purpose**
Purpose of the commission is to help safeguard Australians at risk from online harms and to promote safer, more positive online experiences.
The commission leads and co-ordinates the online safety efforts across Commonwealth departments, authorities and agencies and engages with key online safety stakeholders. It has a broad remit which includes administering complaint schemes and the creation of audience-specific content and programs to help educate all Australians about online safety
The International Engagement and Capacity Building Team is seeking a talented and enthusiastic project officer to support capacity building initiatives and online safety projects with a focus in child online protection.
**Roles and Responsibilities**
As a Project Officer (APS 6 equivalent), the occupant of this position is expected to:
- support the International Team by providing high quality advice and project management support
- anticipate and respond to changing priorities and needs, as well as navigate a rapidly evolving online safety landscape
- provide accurate and specialised advice on online safety issues, and especially in child online protection
- undertake external setting analysis and scanning, nationally and internationally, to provide advice on online safety issues
- assist in the development of draft reports, briefing papers, presentations, correspondence and discussion papers for review by management and executive level employees.
