Boton's service team has been established in the Australian market for several years and currently services the majority of mining clients across Australia. Our service businesses provide conveyor belt repairs, conveyor maintenance contracts, new installs, contingency belt preparation, and a full suite of rubber lining services. Our professional mechanical services team supports site operations through soft and hard skirts adjustments, rollers replacement, belt cleaner inspections, adjustments and refurbishment and installations, as well as chute maintenance, conveyor and hygiene cleaning, and inspections.
Position
Brilliant Boton Australia is seeking Scraper Technicians
POSITION DESCRIPTION: SCRAPER TECHNICIAN - FULL TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE
Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor and Coordinator, the Scraper Technician's tasks will include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
* Working on customer mine sites.
* Preparing equipment for shutdowns.
* Conducting conveyor inspections & maintenance on belt cleaners, idlers and skirts, assisting trades, and inspecting conveyors and associated components.
* Minor fabrication work.
Knowledge and Experience
Relevant hands-on scraper experience, mechanical fitting or fabrication in a shutdown environment with 2 or more years in a mining industry.
* Experienced level 2 and above Scraper Technicians / Mechanical Tradespeople
* Experience and knowledge of belt hygiene and associated scraper and plough components
* Live plant maintenance and inspection of running conveyor belts and all conveyor components highly regarded; however shutdown refurbishment and installation experience is acceptable
* Experience servicing associated conveyor components, Idlers, Hard Skirts, Pulleys & Tracking frames
* Relevant trade highly regarded however not essential
* Problem solving and positive attitude
* Exposure to PDS, SAP or other data capturing programs highly regarded
* A strong safety culture in proactive hazard identification & risk management with a safety-first approach to all tasks and site conditions
* Solid mechanical aptitude with experience in conveyor or fixed plant maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs
* Effective communication and teamwork with internal and external customers, supporting multi-disciplinary crews
* Professional behaviour when interacting with the customer and broader site personnel
* A proactive mindset in looking for maintenance improvement opportunities, identifying & reducing risks, and preventing customer downtime events
* Commitment to delivering high-quality assured workmanship and continuous improvement
Qualifications / Tickets
Essential:
* Current C-Class Manual Driver's Licence (HR Licence highly regarded).
* Construction White Card
* Obtain or willingness to undergo a National Police Clearance.
* Ability to pass a full Pre-Employment Medical & Drug/Alcohol Screen
* Proven maintenance experience in scrapers and fabrication
Desirable:
* Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Certificate (e.g., Cert III Mechanical Fitter or Fitter / Welder)
* Working at Heights
* Confined Spaces
* Gas Testing Atmospheres
* High-Risk Work Licences: Rigging (DG) or (RB/RI), Forklift (LF), EWP (WP), Truck - LR, MR, HR or higher
* Load Restraint
* Hydraulics or plant maintenance tickets
