About the Role
The Forensic Programs Manager is responsible for leading the design, delivery and evaluation of therapeutic programmes that support recovery, wellbeing and offence‐specific rehabilitation within forensic mental health services.
Duties
* The primary focus of the role is to lead, develop and implement integrated forensic programmes.
* Lead the design, delivery and evaluation of integrated forensic programmes aligned with the DUNDRUM framework, Model of Care and organisational priorities.
* Provide clinical and operational oversight to ensure programmes are evidence based, risk responsive, multidisciplinary and embedded within consumer pathways.
* Drive continuous improvement and innovation through programme evaluation, outcomes monitoring, research collaboration and service development initiatives.
* Build workforce capability through effective leadership, supervision, workforce planning and resource management to support safe and sustainable service delivery.
* Ensure high standards of governance, compliance and performance through strong operational leadership, reporting and cross‐service collaboration.
About You
* Relevant postgraduate qualification and extensive post‐registration experience in forensic mental health or a related clinical setting.
* Ability to apply discipline‐specific standards, ethical frameworks and relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, CMIA, Sentencing Act) to practice in secure forensic environments.
* Demonstrated experience leading and delivering evidence‐based, offence‐specific and recovery‐oriented therapeutic programmes.
* Proven leadership capability in multidisciplinary environments, with experience contributing to strategic service planning, policy development and continuous improvement.
* High level communication, evaluation and reporting skills, including the use of clinical data, systems and technology to inform service delivery and executive decision‐making.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
* This is a multidisciplinary opportunity and requires possession of a relevant tertiary qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate Board or Association as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist.
Registered Nurse RPN5
* Registered Psychiatric Nurse. Must have current unrestricted registration with AHPRA and a post‐graduate qualification in mental health nursing or equivalent.
Psychologist Grade 5
* General registration with AHPRA.
* Masters or Doctorate qualifications (Clinical, Forensic or Neuropsychology).
* Eligibility for (or enrolled in) an Area of Practice Endorsement in clinical psychology, clinical neuropsychology, and/or forensic psychology.
Social Worker Grade 5
* Tertiary qualifications in Social Work coupled with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
Occupational Therapist Grade 5
* Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner's Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
* Approved degree in Occupational Therapy and recognised for membership of OT Australia – Australian Association of Occupational Therapists.
