Nutrition Support Nurse Role Overview
As a Nutrition Support Nurse, you will be an integral part of our dedicated healthcare team.
This position requires an experienced nurse to consolidate their knowledge and skills in nutrition support while working alongside a Band 7 Nutrition Clinical Nurse Specialist. Your key responsibilities will include managing parenteral nutrition and complex enteral nutrition, arranging tube insertion, and providing assessment of gastrostomy referrals. The role also involves acting as a link between the community and hospital for patients with gastrostomy tubes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivering specialist nursing care to patients requiring nutrition support
* Managing parenteral nutrition and complex enteral nutrition services
* Coordinating tube insertion and aftercare procedures
* Assessing gastrostomy referrals and coordinating patient care
* Establishing links between community and hospital services for patients with gastrostomy tubes
Opportunities for training and development will be supported through regular appraisals and clinical supervision.
The team holds regular multi-professional ward rounds led by the Consultant Gastroenterologist Lead clinician for Nutrition patient safety agenda. We continuously strive to improve standards in nutritional care across the Trust.

About This Position:
