Marine Facilities Coordinator – Darwin, N.T
About the Role and opportunity -
We are seeking an experienced Marine Facilities Coordinator to support the operational delivery of berthing facility services at the East Arm Wharf (EAW), Darwin, contracted to the Australian Border Force.
Reporting to the Marine Facility Manager, this role is responsible for the day-to-day facilities maintenance, asset management, and operational coordination of the berthing facility. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, government clients, and external contractors to ensure the facility remains safe, compliant, and fit for operational purpose at all times.
This is a hands-on, site-based role requiring strong technical knowledge, organisational capability, and a proactive approach to safety and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities and duties but not limited to -
* Coordinate and oversee day‑to‑day facility maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
* Develop, implement, and maintain the Facilities Management Plan (FMP) and preventative maintenance programs.
* Manage asset management systems (MEX), including schedules, records, and reporting.
* Liaise with government stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors to meet contract requirements.
* Manage Justification for Expenditure (JFE) submissions and monitor budgets, KPIs, and costs.
* Ensure HSSEQ compliance through risk assessments, inspections, audits, and contractor inductions.
* Support operational activities, including vessel bunkering and participation in a 24/7 on‑call roster.
What You’ll Bring to succeed within this role -
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in facilities or maintenance management
* Experience in marine, port, or industrial environments (highly regarded)
* Strong organisational, planning, and time-management skills
* Working knowledge of procurement, invoicing, and contractor management
* Ability to analyse issues, manage risk, and deliver practical solutions
