Project Accountant Role
This is a key role within our organisation, supporting the finance lead in maintaining financial functions and ensuring data integrity.
The Project Accountant will work closely with participants to deliver consolidated financial requirements and provide valuable insights at an enterprise level.
Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing monthly project reporting, tracking and reporting of limb 1, 2 and 3 financial information, and preparing and reviewing variance reporting versus prior forecasts and budgets.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for improving and establishing processes used to calculate accurate, timely and efficient reporting of financial results.
Additional responsibilities include assisting in the preparation and review of the project annual budget and long-range plan, managing tasking statement TCE/cost models, coordinating finance inputs into the quarterly estimate at completion process, operating, maintaining and improving budgeting and forecasting processes, and overseeing monthly project invoicing activities and quarterly true-ups.
Maintaining project indices for escalation and de-escalation calculations and reporting is also a key aspect of this role.
Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home/office and a 9-day fortnight will be considered for this role.
Required skills and qualifications include a relevant degree, CA or CPA qualification, working in a finance-related role, and experience in a large project environment (desirable).
Key skills and attributes required for this role include strong communication and interpersonal skills, self-management skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, high literacy and numeracy skills, MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, knowledge of Australian accounting standards, and exposure to Oracle ERP or similar (desirable).
As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be eligible to obtain and retain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to at least baseline level.
