 
        
        The Role 
We are seeking an Operational Dairy Officer to join our client – a State Government department. This position is a Temporary Casual, Full-Time role for 4 months (with potential extension), based in Gatton. It’s a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in dairy operations and contribute to important research and industry outcomes. 
As part of the Dairy Team, you will support day-to-day operational activities, including animal husbandry and pasture management. The role involves field work throughout the year, including during hot summer conditions, and requires a robust commitment to safety and teamwork. 
Key Responsibilities 
- Assist with dairy operations including cattle movement, drafting, and husbandry tasks.
- Carry out pasture sampling and contribute to pasture allocation activities.
- Support the wider team in delivering research and operational outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
The Candidate 
- Commitment to obtaining vaccination (or providing evidence of prior immunity) for Q Fever before commencement.
- Current “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
- Willingness and physical capacity to undertake physically demanding field work in all weather conditions, including summer heat.
- Previous experience in pasture sampling techniques.
- Understanding of pasture allocations.
- Experience in drafting and moving cattle.
