We are primarily seeking multiple Network Engineer to work with our esteemed Federal client.
Visa: Australian citizen with Baseline or NV1
Location: Canberra, ACT (Hybrid)
Engagement type: Until 30 June 2026 with possible extension
Roles and Responsibilities
This position supports the delivery of the network infrastructure refresh stream within the Investing in our Digital Future program. Working under the guidance of the Senior Network Engineer and Network Architect, the role focuses on implementing network replacement activities across multiple locations. The Network Engineer will contribute to detailed design development, hands-on implementation, and coordination with vendors and delivery teams to ensure successful execution of network upgrades aligned with program objectives.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
1. Provide technical leadership and support to the infrastructure stream, including coordination with delivery teams and supervision of assigned technical resources.
2. Assist in the development of detailed network designs based on high-level architecture, and lead the successful delivery of network replacement activities across multiple locations.
3. Lead the implementation of refreshed network infrastructure, ensuring alignment with program objectives and compliance with Government frameworks.
4. Prepare and maintain network design documentation and implementation artefacts, ensuring repositories are accurate and up to date.
5. Provide technical mentoring and guidance to colleagues on network technologies relevant to the infrastructure refresh program.
6. Analyse, plan, and implement network-related business requirements, including upgrades and migrations aligned with the program's strategic direction.
7. Liaise with key stakeholders across directorates and maintain strong relationships with vendors such as Cisco, Checkpoint, and F5.
8. Prioritise competing project tasks to ensure timely delivery of network replacement milestones.

1. Expertise in leading the implementation, fault resolution, and delivery of enterprise network technologies in a large-scale infrastructure refresh program.
2. Strong understanding of networking technologies across vendors such as Cisco, Checkpoint, and F5, with advanced troubleshooting and configuration skills.
3. Sound knowledge of current ICT infrastructure trends, particularly in network refresh, hybrid environments, and cloud integration.

Compliance Requirements / Qualifications
1. Relevant qualifications or certifications in Network Engineering and/or equivalent experience.
2. AGSVA Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) clearance is required.
3. Ability to obtain WHS qualifications including White Card, Asbestos Awareness, and Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention.
