About the Role
As a Chef Manager, you will lead a team of catering assistants to ensure a high-functioning kitchen and catering service.
Your focus will be on providing quality, well-presented, nutritious meals that meet residents' preferences and needs in a home-like environment, adhering to all quality standards and regulations.

Duties
Run an efficient, high-quality dining and catering service for residents.
Collaborate with the Lifestyle team to plan and cater activities and events.
Meet specialist dietary requirements (e.g., diabetes, weight management).
Prepare main dishes for lunch and dinner.
Oversee food preparation, including vegetables, soups, sauces, desserts, sandwiches, salads, bread, and rolls.
Ensure meals are prepared fresh daily using seasonal produce.
Manage food purchasing, storage, handling, and preparation processes safely and correctly.
Implement infection control principles as per policies.
Complete paperwork accurately and promptly per duty list and quality assurance processes.
Identify training needs of catering staff, including process updates, new equipment, safety, and environmental regulations.
Skills and Experience
Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is essential.
Experience in Aged Care, Hotel, or Restaurant settings preferred.
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
Effective time management, organizational skills, and budget management.
Experience leading a team and managing budgets.
Understanding of Food Audits.
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and liaise with stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service focus.
