People and Culture Manager - Y Ballarat

The Y Ballarat is seeking an HR leader to become our People and Culture Manager. The role will drive and support our organisation's people and culture operations across our substantial portfolio that includes over 100 service locations including kindergartens, long day care centre's, outside school hours care venues, swimming lessons and youth education and engagement.
As the People and Culture Manager, you will work collaboratively with Business Leaders to implement our vision and mission, ensuring the delivery of our goals and objectives. Your ability to understand people and business challenges, combined with a workforce development knowledge that empowers others and allows our people to thrive will inform your contribution to our future growth.

About You:
You are an accomplished human resource professional, with a proven track record in providing expert and contemporary knowledge of generalist human resources policies and practices with significant capability in business partnering. A leader who can lead by example. You are a creative, original thinker, not constrained by the status quo and continuously striving to improve the way we work.
As a values-based leader, you will inspire and empower our people, with a drive for problem-solving and results. You will have the experience of balancing strategic and operational drivers, combined with exceptional relationship building and communication skills that will empower you to navigate complex business environments and make our vision a reality.
Your values-based leadership will be supplemented by appreciating the commercial reality of our diverse business units in a large and complex not-for-profit organisation. You will be confident, inquisitive and analytical, identifying new improvements and initiatives whilst utilising your creative problem-solving capabilities.
What We Are Looking For:
1. Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related field.
2. Demonstrated experience in developing and operating a high functioning employee lifecycle program with a particular focus on talent acquisition, development and retention.
3. Experience operating at a management level or significant experience at a Business Partner level within a Human Resources / People and Culture landscape with a proven ability to influence and deliver positive People and Culture support.
4. A proven people leader who can engage and positively empower people across a range of departments and teams.
5. Demonstrated experience across -
* Workforce Planning and Development
* Leading cultural regeneration
* Reducing vacancy rates, improving retention and the induction experience
* Employee recognition and the effective use of communication platforms.
1. Proficient in continuous improvement of Human Resource Information Systems, analysing the current and ongoing needs of the business and matching to create a positive experience for our staff and volunteers.
2. Experience in the Not-for-profit sector including Early Childhood education and care is preferable, or a related sector to the Y Ballarat business.
