About the role
We're seeking a Network Engineer to maintain and support high-availability network operations critical to our core organizational functions.

Day-to-day, you will:
* Provide third-level network support to ensure the stability, security, and performance of Transurban's network infrastructure.
* Design, implement, and improve network solutions, integrating best practices to enhance operational efficiency and meet PCIDSS compliance.
* Monitor and action network incidents in line with SLA guidelines, ensuring accurate logging and effective resolution through the IT Service Desk system.
* Manage service requests from internal teams or business units, keeping stakeholders informed and maintaining up-to-date documentation.
* Ensure robust change management practices, including risk assessment, approval, implementation, and post-change validation.
* Prioritise network security, ensuring all network components are safeguarded and aligned with corporate security standards.
* Drive continuous improvement by contributing to the development of processes, standards, and documentation within the network operations function.
* Collaborate across teams, communicating effectively with stakeholders and escalating unresolved issues as necessary.
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:
* Knowledge of networking concepts (switches, routers, protocols such as TCP/IP, etc.)
* Knowledge of routing protocols and concepts (Multicast, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, etc)
* Experience with application layer and web technologies including web application firewalls and caching/compression techniques.
* Experience with SSH daemons/clients, tcpdump, Wireshark and other packet sniffing software or products.
* Experience analysing & documenting network configurations and operational procedures
* Experience in administrating Cisco Wireless Infrastructure, Cisco SD WAN, Palo Alto Firewall.
* Advanced configuration knowledge of Cisco Routers and Switches including Nexus & Catalyst (desirable)
