About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities in the agricultural sector.
The successful candidate will have a strong track record of exceeding sales targets, excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify and secure new business opportunities in the agricultural industry
* Expand the seller base across all sales streams
* Generate and manage leads to arrange client meetings
* Negotiate business contracts and prepare client presentations
* Assess and value assets to determine job viability
* Build and maintain relationships through regular client visits and calls
* Respond to unsold item referrals post-auction
Requirements:
* A minimum of 4 years' experience in business development, preferably in agriculture or industrial equipment sales
* Strong industry knowledge, network, and experience in machinery, equipment, and heavy trucks; logistics experience is a plus
* Proven success in exceeding sales targets with a customer-focused approach
* Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills with a proactive sales mentality
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
* Advanced MS Office skills; experience with CRM systems is an advantage
* A current driver's license and willingness to travel
